Three economic regions, not one capital
The state spread industrial development across three regions instead of concentrating it in one city. Each has its own port or airport, anchor sectors and labour catchment.
The north coast — heavy industry, energy and AI
Anchored on Visakhapatnam port and Kakinada, this is where the state puts anything that needs deep water, large power draw or bulk handling. It is also where India’s largest AI infrastructure commitment landed.
Anchors already here: AM/NS India, Google, AM Green, Nxtra by Airtel, AMTZ medtech park, HPCL.
The central corridor — capital, quantum and agri value chains
Built around Amaravati and the Vijayawada–Guntur belt, with the dedicated freight corridor running through it. The state’s quantum computing and deep-tech bet sits here, next to one of India’s densest agricultural catchments.
Anchors already here: IBM Quantum, TCS, Infosys, Coromandel, Heritage Foods, Amara Raja.
The south — electronics, mobility and light manufacturing
Two hours from Chennai port and inside Bengaluru’s supplier orbit. Sri City alone hosts more than 200 companies. This is where consumer electronics, autos and footwear scale fastest because the supply base is already dense.
Anchors already here: LG Electronics, Daikin, Royal Enfield, Hwaseung, Kia’s supplier base, Isuzu, Sri City tenants.
