The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board is the state’s investment promotion and facilitation agency. We are the first point of contact for companies evaluating Andhra Pradesh. Our job is to get a project decided and to hold the rest of government together around it, from the first conversation through to commissioning and beyond.
The Board was constituted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in March 2016. It works alongside the Department of Industries and Commerce.
Our mandate
Four functions, as set out when the Board was constituted.
How the state decides
Major projects are decided by the State Investment Promotion Board, a standing statutory forum with the relevant departments represented on it. A project is decided once, by a body empowered to bind all of them. That structure is why timelines here are measured in months.
Once the Board has cleared a project, the statutory approvals run across departments at the same time. Your EDB lead holds the tracker and the escalation path.
The desks
Enquiries are handled by the desk that owns the sector. You are given a named lead on that desk, and that person stays with the project.

Working with us
You will be given one named lead for your project, not a general inbox. That person stays with you across land, clearances, incentives and commissioning, and remains your escalation route afterwards.
